"We Are the World" Doppelgangers
Humerous article from Black Book Magazine mentions The Carter, comparing Lil Wayne to Bob Dylan, noting how Wayne has taken Dylan’s role in the We Are the World song. Coincidence? I personally don’t think so…
Each insolent geniuses in their own right, Wayne and Dylan are as enigmatic as they are prolific. Everyone who saw this year’s The Carter documentary couldn’t help but think of the portrait of the impenetrable Dylan painted in 1967’s Don’t Look Back. And they both pissed people off by picking up an electric guitar. (Wayne’s rock album Rebirth comes out today, unfortunately.) On playing Dylan, Wayne told MTV: “I was like, ‘What am I doing here?’ I was like, ‘You guys are real good comedians.’”
