“Free Gucci” Redifines the Album for 2010 and Beyond

Diplo Presents: Free Gucci (Best of The Cold War Mixtapes) sets the precedent for how albums should, and will, be created in this decade.
Your favorite artist will be remixed by a variety of producers from around the globe, most of whom will never meet each other in person, some of whom wont even speak the same language.
These songs will be collected into an “album” by a DJ (in this decade the DJ’s role in music is of utmost importance, especially given the glut of music and the need for filtering through it all)
Production will be done remotely and sent from computer to computer via digital files.
The album will be released for free on the internet, generating much publicity for your favorite artist’s career (which at this point wont just be limited to music) - the other producers/artists on the album as well as, obviously, the DJ who directed the whole affair.
No one will really make money through this album.
This album will be fucking dope all the way through, keeping your head nodding and demanding multiple listens (cause that’s all good music need do).
