Part Two is dedicated to Northern Cali and the Bay Area.
As this MegaMix demonstrates, DJ Screw was a big supporter of Bay Area rappers and though he was from Texas he went out of his way to give Northern Cali rappers their shine.
Part Two includes an early example of ‘horror-core’ rap from C-Bo, a Sacramento MC. Spice 1 makes two appearances including my all time favorite beat “Strap on the Side” produced by Blackjack. E-40 and his brother B-Legit go back and forth on “Nichol and Dime” (actually titled “Check it Out” from The Hemp Museum album). Kurupt from the Dogg Pound makes a cameo on that joint. And 2Pac, a major Bay Area supporter all his life, jumps on “Million Dollar Spot” with 40 Water. Enjoy and thank me later.
