Madman or genius, Scratch Perry had a pivotal role in modern music

Subsequent to his rise to music stardom in Jamaica, Perry played the lunatic with his flamboyant sartorial choices (including trinkets and mirrors) and a penchant for painting a mix of slogans and Scripture on any flat surfaces in his proximity. It may be that his brain was turned by a combination of rags-to-riches success, internal music industry strife, and daily consumption of ganja in heroic quantities that could render an entire frat house comatose.
