Don't Break the Internet  →
Article in the Stanford Law Review RE: PROTECT IP Act of 2011 (Protect IP) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House It would be not just ironic, but tragic, were the United States to join the ranks of these repressive and restrictive regimes, erecting our own “virtual walls” to prevent people from accessing portions of the world’s networks. Passage of these bills will...

Lunar Eclipse in India →
My dad sent me the following email last night regarding the lunar eclipse in India Mummiji and I are watching a full eclipse of the moon.  It’s great and beautiful.  It started after 6 pm and will end after 9 pm.  Mummiji said you are not supposed to eat while it is occurring, and pregant women must lie down and not get up until it is over.

Awesome. konradprojects: From the Arts & Culture section of today’s Philadelphia Weekly: Michael Konrad’s “Camo Cones (Hiding in Plain Site)” is almost invisible. Wrapped in images of their immediate surroundings, the traffic cones—usually meant to stand out—dissolve into the streetscape. “Although it’s technically illegal, saving parking spaces is not something that people make any...

His specialty was the technology, media and telecoms sector and he dealt in so-called structured products, including mortgage-backed securities — “the things that blew up, the toxic products” as he put it in a telephone interview. Das had studied this market but remained baffled by it even after he began trading. “I saw people I considered much smarter than I was, and...

blueheartdrops asked: i'm 19 i don't know anything really about editing, writing, or directing but, telling a story to people and directoring it has become a passion for me. I just feel like i'm sooo far behind that i'll never be able to catch up with others and fall to the waste side. Almost like I won't reach my own level of success let alone society. I mean what does it take to be a great...

byronl asked: Not sure of your dilemma, I'm 38 now, I started at the age of 18 as a graphic designer - out of passion. Went into art Direction, then into motion graphics, then into online finishing on the Avid DS Nitris, then into offline editing and longform, and now I can say I have the experience. Never stop learning that is the nature of creativity! Tomorrow I want to be a creative director - and I...

Shallow Graves, Craigslist Job Ad, Akron... →
This is really creepy. They interviewed people in a food court at a mall before taking them out and killing them. One dude even got away after being shot in the arm and hiding in the woods for 7 hours. And there’s some bizarre connection to an Akron Megachurch called “The Chapel”. There’s a low budget horror film in this. Disturbing.
